Protection for Your Home
I take great care during restoration, using tape and drape to protect your skirting boards, appliances, and surrounding areas — ensuring a tidy, careful job from start to finish.
Understanding Etching
Acidic substances like vinegar, citrus juices, wine, and many household cleaning products can damage natural stone — especially those containing calcium carbonate, such as marble, limestone, and travertine. When acid comes into contact with these stones, it reacts with the calcium, causing etch marks: dull, cloudy, or discoloured patches that look like stains but are actually corrosion of the surface.
Etching cannot be removed with cleaning — the only effective solution is diamond polishing. This process carefully refinishes the surface of the stone, removing the damaged layer and restoring its smoothness, clarity, and natural lustre.
I offer professional diamond polishing for both floors and worktops, ensuring etched areas are safely and fully restored to their original beauty.
Scratch Removal
Using specialist tools and refined techniques, I remove surface scratches from stone floors and worktops — restoring clarity, smoothness, and a flawless finish without damaging the surrounding area.
Floor & Worktop Diamond Polishing
Diamond polishing uses precision pads and resins to refine the surface and bring out your stone’s natural shine. It improves appearance and helps maintain that clean, professional-grade finish for longer.
Create Your Perfect Finish
Choose from a range of finish options to suit your style:
- High-Gloss Polished – A mirror-like finish that enhances colour and veining
- Semi-Polished (Honed & Polished) – A smooth finish with a gentle sheen
- Satin Finish – A soft, natural look with low reflectivity
Why Stripping Old Sealers Matters
To get the best results, any previous seal must be fully removed before applying a new one. I use water-based or solvent-based stripping solutions depending on your surface. My rotary machine breaks down old sealers to reveal a clean surface ready for restoration.
Why Sealing Is Essential
Sealing protects your stone from daily wear, moisture, and staining — helping it stay cleaner, look better, and last longer. Without proper sealing, even routine spills or foot traffic can quickly damage the surface.
I offer two main types of sealer:
- Impregnating sealers – These penetrate deep into the stone, providing invisible, long-lasting protection without altering the appearance.
- Topical sealers – These form a protective layer on the surface and offer finish options such as matte, satin, or gloss.
I also offer a colour-enhancing sealer, which brings out the natural tones, richness, and detail of your stone. It works particularly well on slate, limestone, terracotta, and Victorian tiles — enhancing the character of the surface while providing robust protection.
Depending on the type of stone and how the space is used, I will recommend the most suitable sealer — using eco-friendly water-based or stronger solvent-based products as needed.
Aftercare – pH-Neutral Tile & Stone Cleaner
Harsh or acidic cleaners can damage stone and wear down sealers. My pHneutral maintenance cleaner is safe, effective, and designed to help protect your stone and its finish.
Also suitable for porcelain, ceramic tile, and luxury vinyl flooring (e.g. Karndean, Amtico)
